ID 656 - John Hays Comments - My branch (and very likely the entire Hays "K group) descends from the Hay Clan of Scotland, which descends from the Norman family of de la Haye.  The Hay Clan has thrived in Scotland for several hundred years after arriving from the land of interlocking hedgerows (la Haye region of Normandy).   It is interesting to note that virtually everyone in group "K" has a value of 13 at DYS492, which is fairly unique for us as non-Frisian descendants. This slow mutating marker could eventually be of significant use in our research of this branch of the Hay.
